Walter Hersh Sr. Services for Walter Hersh Sr., 67, of 525 Rock Island Ave., will be 2 p.m. Monday at Oppold Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories. Full military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623 and American Legion Post 138. Friends may call at the funeral home 3 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until services Monday.

Mr. Hersh died Friday morning at home. He was born Oct. 20, 1918, in Maryville, Mo. He married May Hill June 4, 1945, in Wairington, England. He was employed at Rath Packing Co. 25 years, retiring in 1976. He served in the Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Walter Jr. of Waterloo, and James of New Caney, Texas; two daughters, Bernice Lutz of Porterville, Calif., and Barbara Port of Lisbon; 12 grandchildren; three great-granchildren; a brother, Edgar of Seattle, Wash.; and two sisters, Mary Richards of Carlton, Nev., and Mildred Richards of St. Joseph, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a son, Glen, in 1980, and by a brother and a sister.
