Mr. Hersh died Friday morning at home. He was born Oct. 20, 1918, in Maryville, Mo. He married May Hill June 4, 1945, in Wairington, England. He was employed at Rath Packing Co. 25 years, retiring in 1976. He served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Walter Jr. of Waterloo, and James of New Caney, Texas; two daughters, Bernice Lutz of Porterville, Calif., and Barbara Port of Lisbon; 12 grandchildren; three great-granchildren; a brother, Edgar of Seattle, Wash.; and two sisters, Mary Richards of Carlton, Nev., and Mildred Richards of St. Joseph, Mo.
He was preceded in death by a son, Glen, in 1980, and by a brother and a sister.
