FLOYDEAN MOORE DAMRON died August 30, 2003, at Duncan Care Center in Duncan, after a long illness.
She was born August 3, 1921, in Comanche, Oklahoma, to Robert Lynn and Cora Bethany Moore.
She graduated from Comanche High School, was a member of the National Honor Society, and attended business school in Wichita Falls, Texas. She worked as bookkeeper for A.N. Harley in Comanche for several years. She married Melvin S. "Tubby" Damron on October 23, 1943, in Walters, Okla.
The Comanche-Duncan area was home to the Damrons, but they lived abroad from 1955 to 1977 while Tubby worked internationally for Halliburton. He retired from Halliburton in 1983, and they moved to their farm near Lake Humphrey, northeast of Duncan, in 1977 where they enjoyed country living and raised horses and cattle.
In addition to her husband, Floydean was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Robert Moore of Norge, Okla., and Tommy Moore of Odessa, Texas.
Survivors include a special nephew, Tommie Joe Moore of the home; a sister-in-law, Nell Damron Heisch of Duncan; a brother-in-law, Wayne Damron of Nixa, Mo.; and numerous other nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Damron were at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche, with Rev. Billy Morgan officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
