In September, the Chester District Genealogical Society was saddend by the death of one of our active members, Sidney J. Cornwall, who was fatally shot during a robbery at his grocery store. He was owner of
S. J. Cornwall Sons' General Merchandising for the past 60 years, located in the Landsford Section of Chester County and a member of Neely's Creek A.R.P. Church where services were held on Sept. 10th. Sidney had a vast knowledge of the history of his area of the county and was always ready to help us locate an old cemetery or homesite. The "two Jean's" enjoyed visiting with him and his wife at the store and always came away with some rare "tidbits" of information.
