Ardella Ann Schwenke, 87 years of age, of Alma, Nebraska, formerly of Orleans, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society – Colonial Villa in Alma. Ardella was born on February 22, 1933, in Franklin County, Nebraska, near Upland, Nebraska, four of six children born to Earl and Henrietta (Detrick) Graham. She graduated from Upland High School with the class of 1950.

On March 26, 1951, Ardella was united in marriage to Roger E. Schwenke at St. John’s Catholic Church in Minden, Nebraska and to this union three children were born: Susan, Pat, and Tim.

Ardella worked at Apple Kays in Orleans for six years and worked at Paddington’s Station in Orleans. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, ceramics, and playing BINGO, Bridge, and Solitaire.

She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Altar Society in Orleans.

Ardella was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Marvin (Jovine) Graham; Burdette (Judy) Graham; and James (Bev) Graham; one sister, Elaine Deppe; and two brothers-in-law: Richard Bose; and Bernie (Donna) Schwenke.

Ardella leaves to celebrate her life; her husband of 69 years, Roger Schwenke of the Colonial Villa in Alma; her three children: Susan Yant and her husband, John of Minden; Pat Rankin and her husband, Dennis of rural Oxford; and Tim Schwenke and his wife, Enid of Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Brock (Tara) Yant; Christina (Mark) Patefield; Trevor (Cindee) Hogeland; Lilian Herout; Adam (Mal) Schwenke; Rachel Schwenke; and Rebekah Schwenke; nine great-grandchildren: Brody Yant; Holly, Weston, Lauren, and Graham Patefield; Gage, Payton, and Kaden Herout; and Nyla Schwenke; three step great-grandchildren: Sean Scott, Jakoby Loibl, and Shaylee (Jason) Osburn; two step great-great-grandchildren: Willa, and Penelope Osburn; sister, Jeannie Bose of Holdrege Memorial Homes; brother-in-law, William “ Bill” Deppe of Montana; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
