Mrs. Monroe, who made her home in Dexterville until this spring when she went to Emerson to live with a daughter, died last Wednesday after an illness of several months and was brought to Blair where the funeral was held Friday afternoon, and the remains laid to rest beside those of her husband who died several years ago. Several children and grandchildren are left to mourn her loss, all of whom have the sympathy of their friends and neighbors in their bereavement.

Sarah S. Monroe—maiden name Keeley—died September 9, 1903 at the home of her son Ross, near Wakefield, Neb. She was born in Butler county, Ohio, Feb. 4, 1841, being 62 years, 8 months and 5 days of age. She moved successively to Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska.
She was married to Francis M. Monroe July 19th, 1860, from which union nine children were born, all of whom are living.
Mrs. Monroe united with the Methodist church when a child. In 1893 she united with the Christian church at Wakefield. Her desire has always been to live an upright Christian life.
A brother of the deceased, from Winfield, Kansas, was present at the funeral.
She was preceded by her husband to the spirit world seven years.
The funeral services were held at the Christian church yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Walker, and the remains were shipped to Blair for interment.
