MARBLEHEAD, MA: Marie Elizabeth (Brophy) Adams was quietly united with God and her husband, Arthur S. Adams on Tuesday, February 9, 2016.

Marie was the daughter of James F. Brophy and Nellie F. McClosky. Born in Everett, they moved to Marblehead, when she was five years of age. She was educated in Marblehead schools.

She married Arthur Sewall Adams on October 24, 1946. They had one daughter, Marie Adams Breen.

Her favorite activity was to stroll The Avenue, checking in with all the shopkeepers and of course, Shubies. You could see her in her Patriots jacket and beret.

Church was special to her and she was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish. She was administered the Last Rights by Fr. John McInnis from St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody.

She was predeceased by her brother, Paul; and sister, Anne.

She is survived by her daughter, Marie, her husband, Ken, and grandson, Kenneth (K2) Adams Breen.
