Benjamin O. Hopkins, 92, passed away Monday, January 6, 1997 in Sandy, Utah.
He was born July 26, 1904 in Henefer, Utah to Benjamin S. and Francis Elizabeth Dawson Hopkins. On August 6, 1928, he married Eldora Peterson. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple April 2, 1934. Dora preceded him in death 15 years ago.
He was a lifelong active member of the LDS Church and enjoyed temple work. He had worked on the railroad for five years and as a salesman most of his life. He loved baseball, his grandchildren and telling stories.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Lamar and Joan Hopkins, Dean and Pat Hopkins, all of Sandy; six grandchildren; and four and a half great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Francis Alta Weaver of Ogden.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 11, 1997, at 11 a.m., at the Little Cottonwood Chapel 18th Ward, 6410 South 725 East, Murray, where friends may call at the church Friday 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Henefer Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Walker Mortuary, Morgan, Utah.
