He started his career in banking in Cleveland, Ohio. Two years later, he moved to Minneapolis and began working at the Columbia Heights State Bank, completing his career at Blaine Bank in 2010. He spent many years coaching Little League Hockey, but his real love was golf. Following retirement, he spent several days a week from April to October on the course, including several trips south for golf in the winter.
David is survived by his sister, Dorothy Schildts of Forest Lakes, Arizona; his brother, Jack (Carol) Carstensen of Pipestone; nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Frieda; a brother James Carstensen; and a sister, Marjorie Carstensen.
