He was born to parents William L. and Vera H. Warnstaff on December 31, 1933 in LaGrande, Oregon. He joined the Navy in January 1951 and is a veteran of the Korean War. Shortly after leaving the Navy, Cliff married Eva in December 1952 and enjoyed 67 years of loving marriage. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, two sons, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and two sisters.
Cliff retired from the trucking industry and was an avid hunter and fisherman spending many hours in the woods or on the water. He enjoyed spending days on the lake with his children and grandchildren teaching them the finer angling skills.
An active member for over 50 years, Cliff is a past deacon of Sunset Road Baptist Church and was always eager to help and support those that were in need and comfort.
Cliff was a Past Master and Life Member of Derita Masonic lodge 715. He was a Certified Lecturer and was appointed as District Deputy Grand Lecturer. Cliff was well recognized throughout the Masonic community for his proficiency in performing Masonic funerals for deceased brothers. Cliff very seldom missed an opportunity to be present at the lodge or work tirelessly for many of their fund raisers to support The Masonic Home for Children or other causes. Cliff was also a member and Past Patron of the Derita Eastern Star.
A memorial service is to be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Sunset Rd. Baptist Church starting at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Sunset Road Baptist Church, The Masonic Home for Children Oxford, N.C. or Levine Dickson Hospice House - Huntersville.
