Shirley Faye Hogan, age 86, of Bluefield, WV went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 following a short illness. She was a 54 year member of Mid-Way Christian Church. Following her retirement from Sears Roebuck & Company, Shirley occasionally worked at Mercer Mall. She volunteered at Bluefield Regional Medical Center for 25 years, was a member of the Christian Craft Club, and was a longtime member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Shirley was a talented cook, crafter, and crocheter. Many will have fond memories of the fruits of her labor.

Shirley was born on June 4, 1934 in Keokee, VA to the late Fred S. Tate (1906-1972) and Izelle Hylton-Tate (1906-1994) of Big Stone Gap, VA. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Carlos "Snake" Hogan (1932-2014); her son, Fred Hogan (Deceased); an infant sister, Mildred Jane Tate (1936-1936); and her brother, Jimmy Tate (Deceased).

Shirley is survived by her daughter Carla Gaye Hogan-Pochick & husband Tom Pochick of Hurricane, WV; granddaughter, Laura Ashlei See & husband Ryan See of Santa Clarita, CA; grandson, Hogan Tate Frazier of Bluefield, WV; and many friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 21, 2020 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, with Minister Dan Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
