Roselyn Jesme, age 74, of Canby, MN passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007 at the Sanford – Canby Medical Center, Canby, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Canby. Father Tony Hesse will celebrate. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Canby. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 28 from 4 – 7 p.m. with a Prayer Service with Rosary to follow in the Birk Funeral Home, Canby. Visitation will resume Wednesday from 9 – 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Online registry at www.birkfuneralhome.com. Roselyn was born on August 30, 1932 to Peter and Esther (Streff) Antony on the family farm near St. Leo, MN. She was raised there and attended St. Leo Parochial School through the eighth grade. Roselyn then attended and graduated from Canby High School. She was united in marriage to Norval Jesme on April 20, 1954 in St. Leo, MN. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed in Florida Township near Canby, MN and raised their family. She received her nurse's aid training in Canby and worked for the Canby Hospital for 20 years. After Norval passed away on January 16, 1997, Roselyn moved into their home in Canby. She passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at the Sanford Canby Medical Center at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 27 days. Roselyn was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Canby and was active in CCW, a Eucharistic minister and volunteered at St. Peter's School. She also belonged to Peden-Cole American Legion Auxiliary in Gary, SD, Burr Ladies Club and MCCL. Roselyn enjoyed golfing, bowling, walking, biking, traveling, being in numerous card clubs and playing scrabble. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She is lovingly remembered by her five children: Paulette (James) Wiesen, Hendricks, MN, Joyce Jacobson, Rochester, MN, Ron (Robin) Jesme, Plymouth, MN, Rita (Dan) Torborg, White Bear Lake, MN and Carol (John) Haukebo, Detroit Lakes, MN; 12 grandchildren; four sisters: Margaret Schmahl, Madison Lake, MN, Sister Eunice Antony of OSB, Collegeville, MN, Agnes (Jim) Miller, Rowland Heights, CA and Florence (Dave) Wieneke, Brooklyn Park, MN; one brother Francis (Marie) Antony, St. Leo, MN; many nieces and nephews and three Godchildren: Lois Barbknecht, Lisa Thomas and Denise Cyprien. Roselyn was preceded in death by her husband, Norval and her parents. Blessed be her memory.
