OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Monday, 27 March 1967:

Funeral services for Albert L. Still, 75, of Elkhart, will be held today at 2 p.m. in Hassell & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Lloyd Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Elkhart.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Still was born in Overton on March 3, 1892, to the late Nathan and Josephine Still. He died Friday at 1:20 p.m. in a local hospital following an illness of several weeks.

Prior to retiring, he was a custodian at Lake Jackson Junior High School for 20 years, and at one time worked for Southern Pacific Railroad in the section department. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Overton, and for the past three years had made his home in Elkhart with a daughter, Mrs. Louise Plaisance.

Survivors are two sons, Douglas Still of Rusk, and John Earl Still of Angleton; two daughters, Mrs. Jettie Allen of Rusk and Mrs. Louise Plaisance of Elkhart; four brothers, John, Charlie, Jim and Emmett Still, all of Overton; five sisters, Mrs. Annie Thomas, Mrs. Nettie Gill, Mrs. Dovie Driver, all of Overton, Mrs. Myrtle Mashburn of Houston, and Miss Exa Still of Mexia; 13 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
