Karl Günther, Fürst von Schwarzburg-Sondershausen, was the last Prince of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen from July 17, 1880 until his death. Treaties of succession of 1713 and 1896, dictated that the principality was to pass to Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt when the Sondershausen line was extinguished, Günther Viktor von Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt ruled both principalities in personal union as Prince of Schwarzburg following the death of Karl Günther in 1909.
