Ephraim E. Hartley
Ephraim E. Hartley, aged 60, well known resident of the Mt. Morris district, died Thursday, June 26, 1930, at his home in West Virginia, a short distance from Mt. Morris. A son of E. W. Hartley and Sarah Headlee Hartley, he was born November 20, 1869, in Perry township and spent most of his life in Greene county. Mr. Hartley was never married. He was a graduate of the Waynesburg School of Music and taught music for several years. He was a member of the Shannon Run Methodist Episcopal church and was the leader of music there for several years. He leaves five brothers and two sisters, namely: C. S. Hartley, of Kirby; Luther Hartley, of Wadestown, W. Va.; Jesse L. Hartley, of Waynesburg; Rev. W. T. Hartley, of Wilmerding; John Hartley and Mrs. David Lemley, of Mt. Morris, and Mrs. Kughn Barrickman, of Morgantown, W. Va. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Methodist Episcopal church at Mt. Morris with Rev. Morris L. Husted, of Kirby, officiating. Interment was in the Cedar Grove cemetery, Mt. Morris.
