Kenneth Max ("Ken") Hughen was born to C.G. and Hazel (Ross) Hughen on December 1, 1937 in Hobart, OK. A man who made his living making moving processes easier for people made his final move to his eternal home in heaven on August 16, 2020 after complications related to the COVID-19 virus. This move to heaven was bought and paid for in full by Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary when Ken, with Ernestine, accepted God's incredible gift of salvation in the spring of 1964 at a Nazarene revival service in Lawton, OK.

Ken was raised on a family farm in Western Oklahoma, and, for a short time, the family lived in Mission, TX. Ken attended school in both Hobart, OK and Mission, TX. He married his high school sweetheart, Ernestine Roebuck on January 22, 1956 in Hobart, OK. Ken and Ernestine lived for a short time in Wichita Falls, TX; moving to Lawton, OK in 1958, where they raised their three daughters, Pam, Sandy and Kerri, and operated the family moving business. Ken and Ernestine moved to the Oklahoma City metro area in 1989. They enjoyed spending time with their expanding family, being involved in servant leadership within the Nazarene Church and its organizations, traveling when they could, all the while developing lasting friendships and experiencing much joy throughout their life together.

Following Ernestine's passing in 2008, Ken fell in love with and married Kartha Lynn on November 14, 2008. Together, Ken and Kartha loved and enjoyed time spent with family, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as travel.

Ken's vocation of choice was within the moving and storage business, as his father had done before him. Ken owned and operated agencies for van line carriers in Lawton until 1989, when he and Ernestine moved to OKC and he worked in local and national sales for Emrick's Allied Moving & Storage, and, later, the A1 Freeman North American Moving Group, until his retirement at age 80 in April of 2018. In 2014, at the age of 76 years young, Ken received a prestigious award for his work as Corporate Relocation Consultant, naming him, "#2 Top Salesman in the Nation for North American/Allied Movers Corporate Sales." A humble man, he merely grinned bashfully when the young guys commented in astonishment that a man his age had run such brisk circles around them to earn it. Ken was active in business and civic associations including Business Owners and Manager's Club Association; International Facilities Manager's Association; and Lawton Kiwanis Club (Past President).

A loyal and supportive "churchman" from the time that Ken and Ernestine became involved in the Nazarene church, Ken served on the Southwest Oklahoma District Church of the Nazarene Advisory Board for 18 years, as well as Finance Committee Chairman for many of those years. On the local church level, Ken faithfully and enthusiastically led by example, serving in numerous capacities within Lawton First Church of the Nazarene and Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Bethany, OK. In 2002, Ken was honored by Calvary Church with a Distinguished Service Award for a lifetime of dedicated service to the local churches he attended as well as his involvement in the work and ministries of the Southwest Oklahoma District Church of the Nazarene.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Kartha Hughen, of the home in Yukon, OK; daughter, Pam Fitzsimons and husband, Dennis Fitzsimons, of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Sandy Johnson and husband, Rev. Bruce Johnson, of Enid, OK; daughter, Kerri Hughen, of Lawton, OK; six grandchildren: Brandon (Alexandra) Jackson; Blake Jackson; Tyler (Camerann) Johnson; Samantha (Philip) Hines; Dillon Hoops; and Drake Partaka; granddaughter by Pam's marriage to Dennis Fitzsimons in 2002, Lindsay (Mike) Arwood; 11 great-grandchildren: Andrew, Nathaniel, Noah, Ryker and Livia Jackson; Ainsley Grace Johnson; Andee Rae Hines; Ryan, Oscar, Daphne, and Millicent Arwood; brother, Floyd Hughen, and wife, Von, of Altus, OK; nephew, Tony Hughen and wife, Michelle, and family; niece, Debbie Algeo, and husband, Arnold Algeo, and family; and, godson, Stephen Ammann.

Additionally, Ken is survived by two sons gained by marriage to Kartha, Rev. Aaron Lynn, and wife, Stephanie Lynn, and sons, Micah, Noah, and Jonah Lynn, of Naples, FL; Dustin Lynn, and wife, Renee Lynn, and daughter, Natalie Lynn, of Yukon, OK; as well as a host of beloved extended family members and cherished friends.

Among the great cloud of witnesses anxiously awaiting Ken's arrival in heaven were his parents, C.G. and Hazel (Ross) Hughen, separated from one another for 50 long years; his adoring wife of 52 years and mother of their three daughters, Ernestine (Roebuck) Hughen; many extended family members; and a vast host of dear, special friends.

A viewing will be held at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home – 3925 N. Asbury Bethany, OK on Thursday, August 27 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm with family present for visitation from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
