FORD, MARCUS.--Age, 22 years. Enlisted, August 9, 1862, at Berkshire, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. B, August 11, 1862; promoted corporal, September 1, 1864; absent, sick in General Hospital, at muster out of company.
Comment written in New York, U.S., Town Clerks' Registers of Men Who Served in the Civil War, ca 1861-1865:
After serving about two and one-half years was taken sick with the pleurisy and sent to a hospital in Washington D.C. Was discharged May 22, 1865 & died at home June 26, 1865. Remains buried in Berkshire Cemetery.
