He was a member of Landon Guaranty and Accident company from 1911-1915, assistant corporation counsel for the City of Chicago from 1921 to 1924 and a Cook County Illinois Assistant State's Attorney from 1925 to 1933.
He was also survived a brother, Luther Ayers and a sister, Sadie Amanda (Ayers) Jarret.
