Wasilla resident Rodney William Anderson Sr., 71, a former truck driver, died Sept. 3 at home. Visitation was held at Kehl's Palmer Chapel, with a funeral immediately following. Burial was at Valley Memorial Park.

Mr. Anderson was born May 3, 1921, in Oklahoma. He was a member of the Palmer Moose Lodge and the Palm Springs (Calif.) Elks Lodge. He belonged to the Palmer post of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing, camping and chili cook-offs. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his wife, Freda, and his daughters, Glenda Wilkerson and Barbara Rush.

He is survived by his companion, Ms. Billy Pacheco of Palm Springs; his daughters, Carole Brooks of Tracy, Calif., Dianna Rotkin of Los Angeles, Marilyn McNeil of Larkspur, Calif., Lorie Anderson of Palmer and Debra Copen Harve of Wasilla; his sons, Rodney Jr. of Homer and Scott of Wasilla; his brother, Theodore of Tehachapi, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorial donations be sent to Hospice of Mat-Su, 950 E. Bogard Road, Suite 111, Wasilla 99654.
