Janie grew up in the Fontanelle area and graduated from Bridgewater-Fontanelle High School in 1973. She then moved to Washington D.C. and started to work for the Federal Government. She met her husband Stanley Adams in D.C. and to this union one daughter, Christina Maria was born. After their marriage they moved to the Des Moines area and she kept working for the Federal Government for 38 years.
Janie loved her cairn terrier dogs, the Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings, enjoyed cross stitching, westerns, and Danielle Steel books.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gene; ex-husband, Stanley Adams; and her beloved dog, Daisy.
She is survived by her daughter, Christi Adams and husband Ryan Scrivner of Des Moines; significant other, James Lucas of Des Moines; mother, June Eshelman of Fontanelle; two brothers, Rick Huff of Fontanelle and Ellis Eshelman and wife Marilyn of South Carolina; two sisters, Carmen Homan and husband David of Fontanelle and Sandi Sickels and husband Thad of Creston; other relatives and friends.
