Obituary.
The community was saddened Saturday morning at the sudden unexpected death of Mrs. Andrew DICK who had a heart attack and passed away around 8:00.
Elizabeth DARK, daughter of Samuel S. and Elizabeth Bond Dark, was born July 4, 1885, and departed this life March 9, 1946.
She grew to womanhood on a farm one and a half miles south of McLouth and received her early education in what was known as Center School.
April 25, 1905, she was united in marriage to Andrew M. Dick. To them were born four children, Mrs. Elizabeth RESSMEYER of Leavenworth, Geo. Melvin of Sprinfield, Mo., and Ednamae of Kansas City, Mo., the oldest child, a boy, having died in infancy.
Depp, as she was affectinately known was a charter member of Alcione Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and was deeply interested in the welfare of this organization, which she served capably and faithfully. The high esteem in which she was held by the members of this organization was shown in the fact that she held an office almost every year of her 42 years of membership. She served as its Worthy Matron in 1926 and had just completed her second successful year in December.
Depp had always shown a marked interest in religious affairs and on April 20, 1930, she and her tow children, Geo. Melvin and Ednamae became members of the United Brethren church. Her she showed the devotion and loyalty which have been so characteristic of her entire life.
Her friendliness, her hospitality, her generosity, her sacrifice of self are but a few of the fine qualities which will be cherished in the hearts of those who mourn her loss.
Besides her immediate family, she is survived by a brother, Edward Bond Dark, a sister, Mrs. Margaret HUMMER of Topeka, a number of nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends.
Out toward the gold of morning's life,
Where the feet of Saints have trod,
She walks the highway of the Stars,
For now, she is with God.

The funeral was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the United Brethren church conducted by Rev. Ira BRAMMELL assisted by Rev. E.C. EDGAR. Music was furnished by Miss Arleene NICKELS with Mrs. Harold GILBERT accompaning. Burial was made at the McLouth cemetery with the Eastern Star conducting the rites.
