Anchorage Daily News May 1, 1990

Patrick Robert Aiken, 28, died April 28 as the result of a fourwheeler accident off Hiland Road. Funeral services for Mr. Aiken were conducted at the Witzleben Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Bragaw Chapel, with the Rev. Dwight D. Greene of the Calvery Chapel officiating. A visitation was held at the Witzleben Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Bragaw Chapel. Mr. Aiken was born Nov. 17, 1961 at Fort Ord, Calif., and attended schools in Schenectady, N.Y., Fairbanks, and at the Career Center in Anchorage. He served in the Alaska Air National Guard for four years. He worked for the CH2M Hill civil engineering firm in Anchorage prior to moving to Concord, Calif., in 1987. He was in Alaska on business for Montgomery Engineering, where he was a senior designer, at the time of his death. He enjoyed skiing, fishing, golfing and trail biking. He is survived by his father, Robert of Chugiak; his mother, Michiko of Anchorage; his daughter, Sarah, and son, Levi, both of Anchorage; two sisters, Donna of Schenectady, N.Y., and Dena Kelley of Chugiak; and his maternal grandmother, Shigeo Kamakura of Shiga, Japan. The family has suggested memorial contributions be directed to Chugiak Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 670363, Chugiak 99567. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park in Palmer at a later date.
