Peter was born in 1802 in France, the son of Barbara and George. He married Maria Ursula Sibolt on 20 Apr 1835 in Stark, Ohio and they had one daughter together. Maria died prior to 1842 and is believed to be buried in Ohio. Peter moved with his young daughter Rosalie to Sainte Genevieve, MO where he met and married Amonica Fallert and had two sons and eight daughters with her between 1842 and 1864. He died on February 1, 1870, in Ste Genevieve, Missouri, at the age of 68, and was buried there.

Peter appears in the 1850 & 1860 US Census and his occupation is listed as a Farmer. Peter also served as a Trustee of School District #6 Ste. Genevieve Co., MO in 1855.
