Wayne, 61 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, joined his heavenly father on August 8, 2020 surrounded by the people he loved. He was born on January 2, 1959 to John G. North and Mary Marie Flurry North in Jonesboro. He was preceded in death by his biological parents and the man he knew as Daddy, Crawford Machen Reed, as well as an infant son, John Machen North.

Wayne married his high school sweetheart, Pam Huckaby at the ages of 18 and 17 respectively and together they enjoyed 42 years of marriage. He worked for Entergy for 37 years and ultimately retired in 2014. Wayne was always quick with a joke or funny story and he had an infectious smile that would make everyone around him smile too. He lived life to the fullest and he enjoyed riding his Harley, watching NASCAR, playing golf, but most importantly a devout Saints fan even during the bad years. Wayne was a fighter, he was diagnosed with stage 4 esophagus cancer in 2019 and his courageous battle with cancer ended on Saturday. A special thanks to Dr. Knecht, Dr. Dhawan and his team at Northwest Cancer Center, and Hospice of Natchitoches for allowing us the opportunity to have him in our life as long as we did.

Wayne’s love of God and country were very important but not nearly as important as the love for his family. He leaves behind to carry on his legacy his wife, Pam North; his daughter, Jennifer Faust and husband Benny (known by all as Beeper and joined the family in 2011); a grandson that brought him so much joy and the two were inseparable, John Grayson Faust (Bubby); a granddaughter, Felicity Faust; and his siblings, John North, David Reed, Crawford Reed, Jr., Roy Reed, and Audrey Wages; his mother in law; two brothers in law; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
