K.S. was the young son of Lee R. Bennett and Anna Futch, both of Georgia, who were living in Taft at the time. He died of 2nd degree burns from gasoline igniting.

He was buried in a white suit.

Master K.S. Bennett, 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. L.R. Bennett of Taft died at a local hospital Monday morning from burns received when he was playing around gasoline and matches. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Taft. Carey Hand is in charge of arrangements.
