FAMILY SEARCH. Ira Bronson Allen Sr was born on 21 March 1825, in New York as the son of McCullough or Allen and Mary Moore (1802-1877). He married Elizabeth Jane Drake (1825-1913) in 1846, in Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 5 daughters. He lived in Palmyra Township, Lenawee, Michigan for about 10 years and Spring Arbor, Spring Arbor Township, Jackson, Michigan in 1870. He died on 12 September 1899, in Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, California, at the age of 74, and was buried in Estrella Adobe Cemetery, Estrella, San Luis Obispo, California.

He was a resident of Palmyra, Michigan when he enlisted on Decemeber 30, 1863 for three years service as an artificer. He mustered out on Septemeber 22, 1865 in Nashville, TN.
