Betty was born on August 17, 1928 in Verndale, Minnesota to Henry and Anna (Arndt) Grewe. She grew up in the Verndale area and graduated from high school there. She was united marriage to Theodore Loss, who passed away, and then was married to Theodore Martinsen and moved to North Dakota. She worked for St. Joseph's Hospital processing insurance claims for over 20 years, and also as the treasurer for the township of Greely, ND for 23 years. Betty was a fabulous cook. She enjoyed embroidery and canning. She will be remembered as a strong pillar of the family, for her faith, and her sense humor.
Betty is survived by her son, Michael (Suzanne) Loss, Thomas (Carla) Loss, James Loss; daughters, Debbi (Maury) Graham, Kamille (Robert) Schlagel; grandchildren, Kristina, Kandice, Jon, Amanda, Peyton, Joey, Annie; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Joseph, Kate, Amari, Gavin; and brother, Helmer Grewe.
She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; 6 brothers; two sisters; daughter-in-law, Regan; and grandson, Teddy.
