Catharine was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Deboy. She married Anthony Ensminger about 5 November 1805 (date of bond) in Monroe Co., Virginia. She and her husband were on the 1810 and 1820 censuses in Monroe Co., Virginia. They moved to Ross Co., Ohio, about 1822, and were on the 1830 census there. The family moved to Madison Co., Illinois, before 1840. After Katey died, Anthony Ensminger had a second marriage to Sarah and was on the 1860 census with her in Marion Co., Arkansas.

Catharine's birth year is an estimate based on her age range on the 1830 and 1840 censuses and her marriage in 1805.
