SLAVEN, Doris C. "Dot," 85, of Richmond, passed away February 15, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Foster Slaven Jr. She is survived by three children, Billy Slaven and his wife, Carol, Sandy Slaven and his wife, Patricia, and Karol Smith and her husband, Ken; sister, Isabel "Bibbie" Tyler and her husband, Stewart; four grandchildren, Shaun, Zachary, Keaton, and Joshua. Dot loved going to the river with her family and friends and was an avid bowler. Her family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 18 at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where a funeral ceremony will be held 12 noon Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Interment will follow in Westhampton Memorial Park.
