Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio Atencio and Susie Archuleta Atencio, the love of her life, K.E. "Gene" Locklear, brothers-in-law, Paul García, AT Locklear and Chester Locklear, sister-in-law, Rachel Sparks, nephew, Elijo Padilla Jr. and niece, Connie Padilla.
Ernestine is survived by her daughters, Leona Locklear and Eva Trujillo, granddaughters, Dawn Voss, Erin Gonzáles, Robyn Gonzáles, Mckayla Hanawalt and Malia Hanawalt, great-grandsons, James Gonzáles and Michael Gonzáles and extended children, Mirisue Galindo, Jayden Galindo, Kailyn Galindo and Lorenia Parish.
Ernestine was a spiritual mom, sister and mentor to many too numerous to list.
Ernestine is also survived by brothers and sisters, Vicente Atencio and his wife, Rosie, Mary García, Juan Atencio and his wife, Lizzy, Virginia Padilla and her husband, Elijo, Marcella Martínez and her husband, Larry, Donald Atencio and his wife, Mary and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. All of whom she loved.
