Taking his shotgun and telling the members of the household that he was going rabbit hunting, he walked out to the barn and emptied a charge of the gun into his body. He died instantly.
Mr. Fant lived with his sister-in-law, Mrs. M. Fant, on the Talladega county side of the Calhoun county line. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Bethlehem church, Rev. T. D. Stoveall officiating, with interment in the Bethlehem cemetery, Usrey in charge.
