Margaret Marie (Peery) Hollensteiner, 87, of Wellsville, formerly of Middletown, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020 at The King’s Daughters Home in Mexico.

Private Family Graveside Services will be held at the Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown. Rev. Luke Wolters will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Annelissa, Cordell, Jolene, Jacob and Jason.

Services are under the direction of the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.

Mrs. Hollensteiner was born January 28, 1933 in Wellsville, Missouri, a daughter of Daniel Walter and Etta Mae (Bentley) Peery.

She was a 1951 graduate of Wellsville High School.

On May 27, 1962, at Margaret’s parents’ home in Wellsville, Missouri, she married Carroll Vaughn Hollensteiner. They were happily married for almost 50 years, before he preceded her in death on March 30, 2012.

Margaret lived in Middletown most all of her life on the farm, before moving to Wellsville in 2009.

Margaret worked for Dr. Byland’s office in Wellsville until right before her first born. She met lots of people and made lots of friends during that time.

She was a member of the Middletown Baptist Church.

Margaret enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint as well as cooking and baking. She liked watching westerns and cardinal bird watching. More than anything, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Brian Carroll Hollensteiner and wife, Joan, of Millersburg and David Walter Hollensteiner and wife, Melissa, of Wellsville; five grandchildren, Annelissa Marie Taylor, of Kansas City, Cordell Donavon Hollensteiner and Jolene Marie Hollensteiner, of Martinsburg and Jacob Michael Hollensteiner and Jason Scott Hollensteiner, of Wellsville; sister and brother-in-law, Doris Jean and Leroy Bolton, of Pleasantville, Iowa; in addition to nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carroll Vaughn Hollensteiner; twin sister, Marjorie Mae Angel and brother, Charles Isaac Peery.
