Texan Dies After Being Shot Twice
CLEBURNE, Texas, Oct. 3. -- Arburl Williams today gave bond in the sum of $5,000 on a charge of slaying Vernie Hightower at Hightower's residence in Alvarado. Hightower was shot twice at o'clock this morning and was rushed to Cleburne where he underwent an operation but died this afternoon. Both men lived in Alvarado. Hightower was 30 years old and unmarried. Williams has a wife and three children.
