Lynda Louise Walker, 69, of Ozark, Arkansas died Saturday, August 1, 2020 in Ozark. She was a retired Elementary School Teacher who previously taught Dover, Hot Springs Lakeside, and Fort Smith Public Schools. She was Ms. Flippin High School 1969 and 2004 and 2005 Teacher of the year Fort Smith. She was born April 7, 1951 in Gassville, Arkansas to Harlan and Bertie McCracken Pierson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Lynda is survived by her husband, Steve Walker of Ozark; three daughters, Valerie Griesse and husband Jonathan of Jonesboro, Ar, Emily Fisher and husband Josh of Fort Smith, and Julie Hamlin and husband Nathen of Heber Springs, Ar; seven grandchildren, Elijah and Genevieve Griesse, Canon Borum, Harlyn Fisher, and Allie, Pierson, and Reid Hamlin.
Open visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Tuesday, August 4th at the Garner Building. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at the Ozark First United Methodist Church Sanctuary with Brother Jeff Jackson officiating and Jonathan Griesse speaking and burial at Highland Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Serving as Pallbearers are Jonathan Griesse, Nathen Hamlin, Josh Fisher, Kevin and Kramer Berry, and Ronald Chastain. Honorary are Charles Morton, Jim Bearden, Hunter Coombes, Chris Burroughs, Randy Hillard, and Keith Carter.
