Former Prominent Resident of Shamokin Dies Alter Long Illness. Mrs. Elizabeth Heck, former resident of this city, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Snyder, 740 Front street. Sunbury Saturday morning at 9:00 after a lingering illness. Mrs. Heck was stricken ill at Christmas and her condition gradually became worse until she was compelled to take to her bed eight weeks ago. Since that time she became gradually weaker. The deceased was born at Lykens 78 years ago. She came to this city when a young lady and resided here for many years. Seven ,ears ago .she moved to Sunbury and made her home with her daughter. She was a woman of sterling character and was held in the highest esteem by all. The news of her death will come as a shock to a legion of friends in this city. She was the widow of the late Charles Heck, who passed away in this city during the influenza epidemic. Surviving to mourn her loss are four daughters, Mrs. Jennie Eisenhart, of Lewisburg; Mrs. William Dreher and Mrs. Charles Chervanick, both of this city, and Mrs. Anna Snyder, of Sunbury. The funeral will be held from the home of Mrs. Snyder in Sunbury on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows' cemetery along the Trevorton road.
