Bessie Jenell Gibson Sullivan 90, of Vincennes, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2020 while at Willow Manor.
She was born on April 28, 1930 to the late James E. Gibson and Ethel Combs Gibson in Glenmary, TN.
Jenell spent several years in area group homes and nursing homes; she enjoyed writing letters and singing. She very much loved visits with her children. She also spent her free time doing word search puzzles and crocheting.
Jenell is survived by; children, Sherry Sullivan of CA, David Sullivan (Brenda) of Vincennes, John Sullivan of Danville, Genell Thorne of Vincennes, Julie Allen (Randall) of Vincennes, Mark Sullivan (Reiko) of Hawaii, Mischelle Pinnell of Hazelton, Melanie Miller of Vincennes, Michael Sullivan (Heather) of Avon, and Jeremiah Anderson of Robinson, Il ; sisters, Audrey Hall, Sandra McDaniel, Ruth Pumphrey all of Rockford, IL, and Virginia Champion of Naples, FL; grandchildren ; great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by; her husband, Bruce E. Sullivan; a daughter, Kathy J. Tappscott; grandsons, Marcus R. Allen, Franklin Sullivan; great-granddaughter, Briana Stevens; brothers, Harold, James, and Steve Gibson; sisters, Helen Legg, and Madeline Gibson.
Visitation will be held in the Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. Vincennes, IN 47591, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 6, 2020 with a service immediately following also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery
