Eugene M. Adler, age 85, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, after an extended illness. Eugene was born on April 13, 1916, to John and Margaret (Saeman) Adler. He was united in marriage to Mildred Drives on April 20, 1938. He worked at Oscar Mayer for 38 years, retiring in 1977. He was active in the company golf and bowling leagues. He belonged to the Madison Bowling Association and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1975. Eugene was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and an officer in the Equitable Reserve Association. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; two daughters, Kay (Don) Black of Clarkesville, Ga., an Sandy Shultz of Quartz Hill, Calif.; three sisters, Leola Kahl, Middleton, Rosie (John) Dahmen, Monroe, and Agatha Adler, Milwaukee; a brother Harold Adler, Middleton; six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers and sisters; and a son, Ronald, in 1999. A celebration of Eugene's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, Middleton, on Saturday, March 2, 2002. Monsignor Higgins will officiate.
