John H Fortney born February 1836 Ohio; a Lead Miner in Grant Co. Wi. Married Theresa; d. 26 Sept.1880 Ca (stone 44Y 7m. 22d). He served in the Civil war. Was a Gold Miner at the Boise Gold Mine in Montana mid 1860's. Was one of the founders/leader of the Estrella Adobe Church, San Luis Obispo County California. The initial 'H' for his middle name comes from his mother's family bible which lists him as John H Fortney. Bible is in the library of Vickie Potter.
