Funeral services will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Alexis Lanclos, age 88, who passed away Friday, August 24, 2007 at 2:35 p.m. at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas. Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Mausoleum in Arnaudville. The Rev. Paul Metrejean, will officiate at the services. Melancon Funeral Home of Arnaudville, 224 Main Street, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lanclos was a native of Leonville and a resident of Houston, Texas for forty-seven years. He retired with Houston Transit Company after thirty-three years of service, and worked for Amaco Production for ten years. He was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Gladys Lanclos, the former Gladys Marks of Arnaudville; a brother, Edward Jay Marks and his wife Carroll of Splendora, TX; a sister, Mildred Fields of Houston, TX; and his dog of seventeen years, Rusty Lanclos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine Lanclos and the former Hilda Moreau; a brother, Anthony Lanclos; and two sisters Louise Eppes and Beulah Lanclos.
