Charles P. "Charlie" "Chuck" Beard
Coatesville - Charles P. "Charlie" "Chuck" Beard, age 72, of Coatesville, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018. Born August 30, 1946, in Indianapolis, he was the son of the late Henry and Helen (Leavell) Beard. His brother, Henry Beard, Jr., also preceded him in death.
Chuck retired in 2005 from the Indianapolis Parks & Recreation Department after 32 years of service. He loved nature and was very active in the community, especially at Heritage Lake. He coached his children early in his life, and "Papaw" loved cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He was a 1964 graduate from Zionsville High School and received his degree from Purdue University. He also served in the US Navy.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Marilyn (Baber) Beard; his children, Ginny (Mac) Condill and Jason Bracken; five grandchildren: Adria (Mitchell), Nicole, Charley, Mackenzie and Coewn; and one great grandson, Carson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 12:00 PM in the Conkle Funeral Home, Avon Chapel, with calling Friday, October 26, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM and also Saturday from 10 AM to 12 PM.
