DeMarcus "Marcus" L. Hale Jr., age 18 of Fort Wayne, Indiana was taken by gun violence on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. Marcus attended South Side High School in Fort Wayne Indiana and Lima Senior High School in Lima, Ohio. Marcus was very popular and was known for his athletic abilities and charming smile. With his competitive nature, he loved football and basketball. He even participated in wrestling while attending Lima Senior High School. Marcus was a loving protector and made it his duty to protect the people he loved. Although his life was taken in vain, his legacy will live on through his loved ones.
DeMarcus leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, LaShawndra McDowell, Godparents; Kenyanna Gentry and Charles Connor; his siblings, Alesia McDowell, Isis Hale, Mar'Twain McDowell, Jayda Whitsett, Detreveon Hale and Avonte Hale; grandparents, Carolyn McDowell, Ivory (Cynthia) Morgan and Jacqueline Hale; first cousins, Zachary Brown, Contreal McDowell, Davondre James, and Ny'Zheri James; aunts and uncles, Tamika McDowell, Latishe Reed, Crystal Hale, Chris Hale and Jasper Edwards. Marcus was loved by so many people that aren't named such as extended aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Marcus was preceded in death by his father, DeMarcus Hale Sr., grandfathers; David Jackson and Ladell Harris; great-grandparents, Augusta and James Jackson. Service will be Friday, March 8, 2019 at Kingdom Door Christian Worship Center, 1004 East Pontiac Street, at 11:00 A.M. with calling one hour prior. Care entrusted to Nelson Memorial Gardens, Inc.
