Mr. Gerber was employed by the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company for more than thirty-three years, having been the local representative at Ellicott City and Havre de Grace for a number of years. At the time of his death he was employed at the general offices here as a commercial engineer. He was the son of the late Christian P. Gerber and Anna Sophia Edling. His father conducted a large pickle and packing plant for many years on Light street He received his early education at the Old Mill High School on Millington lane. He later graduated from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Survivors include his widow, Kathryn French Gerber; a half sister, Mrs. James Wheatley, and a -half brother, John W. Loeber.
