Opal Griffin, age 93, of Maud, Texas, died Monday, July 27, 2020, at her residence.
Mrs. Griffin was born February 21, 1927, in Miller County, Arkansas and was a Baptist. She was a homemaker who loved her family and was everyone’s Nanny.
Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Beatrice (Polk) Beal, her husband, Marshall Ray Griffin, one brother, Louis O. Beal, and one sister, Alma Jean Beal.
Survivors include her children, Linda Rogers Pilgreen and husband Bruce, Marsha Smith, and Jimmy Griffin, Sr. and wife Patsy; grandchildren, Ron (Donna) Rogers, Kevin (Jen) Rogers, Candace Rogers (Andrew) Fulton, Becky Rogers, Rod (Amber) Smith, Melanie Smith, Jessica Smith (Jeremy) Allen, Jackie Griffin (Neil) Gerrald and Jimmy (Haley) Griffin, Jr.; nineteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Dierksen Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to them at 5520 Plaza Dr., Texarkana, Texas 75503.
Graveside services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in Shiloh Cemetery with Bro. Corey Calicott officiating. Burial is under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.
