Agnes M. Goeden, 95, 2129 S. Cypress St., died Monday, July 20, 1992, at her residence after a long illness. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Monsignor Thomas M. Donahoe officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. today, with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Mrs. Goeden, the former Agnes W. Borgerding, was born Jan. 17, 1897, in Dutzow, Mo., the daughter of Henry and Mary (Hatke) Borgerding. She received her education in Missouri, where she she attended teachers college. She married Peter F. Goeden June 28, 1922, at Dutzow, Mo. She was a rural school teacher in Texas and Nebraska. She lived in Menominee, Neb., prior to moving to Sioux City in 1945. Mr. Goeden died July 13, 1951, in Sioux City. She was employed at People’s Department Store until 1953 and then worked as a bookkeeper at Kay Dee Feed Co. until her retirement in 1972. Mrs. Goeden was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar Society of the church. Survivors include three daughters, Antoinette Reetz of Sparks, Nev., Rita Hunter of Orlando, Fla., and Maxine and her husband, Tom O’Brien of Sioux City; two sons and their wives, Willard and Barbara and Donald and Gloria, all of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Esther Goeden, of Lafayette, Colo.;’27 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James; six brothers; and seven sisters. Pallbearers will be Daniel, Jeff, Douglas and Patrick O’Brien, Robert Dermit, William Miller, Mark Goeden, and Gary Hunter.
