Margaret Lenora Eckhardt Palafox, born November 27, 1922, in Fredericksburg, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on July 24, 2020 at the age of 97 years.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Albert Palafox.

Margaret graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1940 and attended Draughan’s Business College in San Antonio, after which she accepted a position with Fredericksburg Savings and Loan Association as a secretary and bookkeeper. Two years later, she was employed by the Office of Censorship in San Antonio, where she met the love of her life, Albert Palafox, whom she married on September 18, 1944. Later, she was employed at Brook Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, until July 1951, after which she turned her attention to being a devoted homemaker. Margaret enjoyed cooking and sewing and spending time with her family, especially during fishing trips and summer time travels.

Margaret was a lifelong Lutheran, being baptized, confirmed and married at Bethany Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg. She was a member at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, San Antonio and most recently enjoyed participating in the online worship services of Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, San Antonio.

A private outdoor, crypt-side service for the family will be held at Mission Burial Park North Mausoleum, located at 20900 IH 10 W on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Steven J. Cox will be officiating. Mask wearing and social distancing at the service are respectfully expected.
