Alice R Abel, 91, a retired Civil Service employee, died Sunday, October 8, 2006 in Melbourne.

Born in Conneauta, Ohio, she came to Brevard County from Lake City in 2000.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Melbourne and the American Legion. Alice was USMS Vet. of W.W.II.

Alice is survived by her sons, James M. Pomeroy, II and Michael W. Pomeroy; sister Ruth Cauble; brother, David Robinson; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son, Scott E. Pomeroy.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
