Mrs. Mabel Wiles, 50, wife of Francis M. Wiles, died at her home in Alda at 1:10 p.m. Sunday, following an extended illness of Bright's disease, complicated with heart trouble. She had been in failing health for some time, and since last October her condition had been serious. Mabel Clair Rickard, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Rickard, was born near Wood River on October 12, 1878. There she grew to womanhood, and on December 19, 1900, was united in marriage with Francis M. Wiles. Nearly all her life was spent in the vicinity of Wood River and Alda.
Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Cecil Clark, of Grand Island; five sons, Earl F., Clyde E., Milton S., Ralph W., and Delmar G., all residing near Alda; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Bates, of Bassett, Mrs. Seth Compton, of Benkleman; and three brothers, L. K. Rickard, of Grand Island, A. L. and T. L. Rickard, of Alda. Funeral services will be held from the Friends church in Alda at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Foxworthy officiating. Burial will be in the Alda cemetery.
