Herbert was born in Spur, Texas, to Carroll and Gladys (Barrington) Beesley. He lived most all of his life in Hubbard and was a 1946 graduate of Hubbard High School. Herbert was a longtime barber in downtown Hubbard and a member of Hubbard City Masonic Lodge # 530. He was a veteran having served as a medic in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1951 and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hubbard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Beesley; mother and stepfather, Gladys and Vern Odom; and son, Jim David Beesley.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma (Blount) Beesley, of Hubbard; son, Roland Taylor Beesley, of Hubbard; daughters: Sandra Fincher, of Axtell, Margaret Cissell, of Axtell, Lisa Beesley, of Hubbard, and Cheyenne Enright Spears, of Hubbard; aunt, Ruby Hawkins, of Hubbard; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous cousins.
