Kane - James Albert Ashlock, 73, of Kane, died at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
Mr. Ashlock retired from Olin Corp. in 1952 and was a member of the Westerner Club and the Kane Baptist Church.
He was born Sept. 12, 1899 in Greene County and married the former Geraldine Hutchens June 22, 1922 in Jerseyville.
Surviving are his widow, Geraldine; two daughters, Mrs. Harrold (Dotalease) Shain of Kane and Mrs. Bill (Judith) Clendenen of Fieldon; four sons, Carroll E. of East Peoria, Ill., Donald H. of Fresno, Calif., Lt. Edward L., who is stationed with the Navy and Gerald L. of Rosewood Heights; a brother Harry of Wood River and two sisters, Mrs. Victor Sears of Centralia, Mo. and Miss Almeda Ashlock of Kane.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville until 12:30 p.m. Friday when the body will be moved to the Kane Baptist Church for services at 2 p.m. Friday.
The Rev. Jack Brown will officiate and bruial will be in Kane Cemetery.
