Allen Eric Aronson, son of Lars Eric and Emma Josephine Allen Aronson, was born March 7, 1886, in Adair County.

Allen lived most of his life on a farm working as a farm hand. He loved gardening and flowers and had a knack of making most anything grow. He also loved children and was the happiest when he had his nieces and nephews around him, particularly at family gatherings.

In recent years, Allen has resided at the Madison Manor Home in Winterset. He died at the Winterset Hospital, October 11, 1974, having attained the age of eighty-eight years, seven months, and four days.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents and his older sister, Alice Raper. He is survived by two sisters, Ann Beezley of Panonia, Colorado, and Hesper Mapes of Dexter, Iowa; four nieces and four nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, October 14, 1974 from the Link Funeral Home, Stuart, Iowa with Rev Michael Bilken officiating. Organ music was provided by Mrs. Sam Mapes playing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Peace in the Valley".
Serving as casket bearers were Arthur Mapes, Warren Carter, Wilfred Lank, Jack Raper, Harold Carns, and Wayne Carter. Interment was held in the Canby Cemetery, Adair County, Iowa.
