Kenneth Ray Boeke

72, of Mooresville, passed away on March 11, 2020 at Franciscan Hospice House surrounded by his family. Ken was born on March 31, 1947 in Rockford, Illinois to the late Charles Howard Boeke and Anna (Erb) Boeke.

Ken grew up in Winnebago, IL on a dairy farm. Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Airforce during the Vietnam War. Upon returning to home from service, he was drawn back to the clean, country living and farmed with his wife for many years in Iowa. When the small family farms were struggling to make ends meet during the 1980's Ken chose to give up farming and went back to school using his talent for mechanics and became a aircraft mechanic. He later worked for United Airlines and later for AAR, where he retired. In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring cars, especially his pride and joy '72 Ranchero. He was a member of the Mooresville First United Methodist Church, Mooresville American Legion, United Retirees- Indy Racers Club and the Historic Auto Club. He will be remembered as a strong, hardworking, faithful man, with a booming voice, who would give the shirt off his back.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Deanna (Humphrey) Boeke; a daughter Lisa Franklin and her husband Ron; brothers Keith, Greg and Lee Boeke; grandchildren Nick Martin, Amy Phillips, Sean Osuna; great-grandchildren Tara Phillips, Mia Phillips, Jaxon Martin, Mattlynn Martin and a host of extended family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Monday, March 16th from 4-8pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Private services will be held on Tuesday morning. Burial will follow the services in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, Indiana (Monrovia).

Memorial contributions are preferred to be made in Ken's memory to the Mooresville First United Methodist Church 900 Indianapolis, Rd. Mooresville, IN 46158 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256. https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/
